Jun 2013 ETN Transformation agreed at the Dock Ouest
EurTradeNet and AKANEA Developpement welcomed this year a very special ETN Annual: the unique environment for meeting and leisure provided by the Paul Bocuse Group in Lyon was perfect to celebrate our 10th Anniversary… while eCustoms realities and challenges are suggesting ETN to re-think the most adequate professional structure to stably represent the CRSPs.
Early in 2003 a group of eight entrepreneur CRSPs decided to launch EurTradeNet, with the aim to strength their specialised eCustoms provision, further improving their background know-how, and promoting their added value to the whole foreign trade community. After ten years of strong-willed intentions and highly professional effort together, EurTradeNet reached its utmost goal: wide representation of leading CRSPs Europe-wide, full acknowledgement of the public institutions and regulatory bodies dealing with eCustoms, and professional respect of the most relevant Trade Associations grouping the different supply chain actors.
EurTradeNet has become a stable participant of the most exclusive eCustoms discussions and sector workforces; the CRSPs finally have a high&early intervention where new regulations and operational approaches are promptly analysed, complementing the needs and constraints from the trade agents they serve, thus finally facilitating a well-informed decision making. The joint CRSP misión is clear and the route is successfully taken by ETN; 2013 was the perfect momentum to deeply revise our conduction rules and to accordingly renovate EurTradeNet.
As every year all ETN partners and members got together for the ETN Annual: two intensive working days to fairly share what’s new in the eCustoms sector, to jointly realise how the service providers could promptly react to future market needs, and to ultimately fine-tune the value proposition of EurTradeNet as the European ear&voice of the CRSPs.
The International Law Firm Baker & Mckenzie accompanied EurTradeNet in the comprehensive analysis of alternative legal structures (Societas Europaea, European Economic Interest Group, and International Non-Profit Professional Association). The top managers representing the ETNers jointly discussed the pros&cons of each legal formula, actively listening to the specialists benchmarking other sector groupings and trade alliances. And the ETNers took a unanimous decision in Lyon: EurTradeNet should become an International Non-Profit Professional Association. Please keep on track the following ETN News: January 2014 is an ambitious timing for ETN Transformation, but all our fellow CRSPs are determined to make it real by the New Year.
The ETN Alliance keeps growing and is in constant search for complementary expertise to add to its unique professional network. Please see our current ETN knowledge map.
