Active ETN participation at National eCustoms programmes

Jan 2013 Active ETN participation at National eCustoms programmes

Complementarily to the global presence of EurTradeNet at the European official fora, the active participation of the ETN Partners is also reinforced at the National level: ACO Informatica is now the stable ETN representative at the Italian eCustoms, thus EurTradeNet also shares local discussion with the well-established trade associations in Italy; other European regions come next.

The ETN partners and members are the ones delivering their IT solutions to trade customers in their own regions, and the core role of EurTradeNet as umbrella organisation is to be their global “ear&voice”, promptly informing them on the most relevant eCustoms news, for the ETNers to get prepared for the upcoming future. But even though the European Commission fixes rules to be EU applicable, the final implementation is further balanced and decided by the National Customs Authorities themselves. Thus not only the directives from the EC are relevant, also the concrete National rules are the ones the ETNers must carefully follow-up to get locally adapted right on time.

Important trade countries organise specialised eCustoms “information sharing” through formal committees and specialised means only available for Trade Associations. As an exception Belgium and the United Kingdom have their own association of customs-related service providers, thus EurTradeNet locally develops from a professional understanding with them. But in other important territories (like Italy) it is directly a leading ETN partner representing the CRSP sector at the National level, sharing its best know-how and professional advice with National Authorities and local Trade Associations. ACO Informatica offers not only its expertise covering IT local singularities, but also the global EU direction and the best practices Europe-wide learnt from all ETNers around.

This ETN representation is unique at that Italian level, but all intermediate discussions and findings are promptly shared with the brother CRSPs under EurTradeNet. Other ETN partners decided to move forward as ACO in Italy in order to add higher value to their own Customs Authorities and National Trade Associations, to jointly balance the pros and cons of alternative operational approaches for the optimum shake of eCustoms procedures in their region. The success of ETN Italy is right the beginning of the widest fruitful liaison Europe-wide.

The ETN Alliance is growing and in constant search for complementary expertise to add to its unique professional network. Please see our current ETN knowledge map.

  • If you are a fully certified CRSP company,
  • If you are willing to establish fair professional collaborations that will make you well-prepared,
  • If you believe that cooperation leads to excellence

… you are a perfect candidate to be part of EurTradeNet.

We´ll be glad to listen to your proposal.
